PURPOSE:To enable the miniaturization and standardization of the optical parts to be packaged on a substrate and to facilitate the packaging thereof. CONSTITUTION:The boundary surface of an optical waveguide 12 and a groove 13 cutting this waveguide is formed as a reflection surface 14 so that light CAN be made incident and emitted between the optical waveguide 12 and the optical parts to be packaged on the substrate surface 11a. An optical lens 12 is formed in the incident and exit part of the light for the reflection surface 14 of the substrate surface 11a. The reflected light 16 which is propagated in, for example, the optical waveguide by the optical lens 21 and is reflected and spread by the reflection surface 14 is converted to collimated beams 22 of light to be required by the optical parts. Then, the need for the optical parts disposed heretofore in the optical parts is eliminated. |
