PURPOSE:To reduce malfunction and to improve the reliability of the monitoring device by performing the picture blurring processing. CONSTITUTION:The weighted average value between the picture of an object to be monitored whose image is picked up by CCD cameras 4-7 and the picture density value of its peripheral picture element by each picture element is obtained to correct the picture density and blur the picture. The distribution of the picture density of all the picture elements of the image pickup picture is averaged. Further, the entire image pickup picture is moved by a given number of picture elements in a given direction. Then, the normalization correlation of the picture density between the picture performing the processing and its reference picture is obtained by arithmetic circuits 34-37 of picture processors 8 and 9, and based on the obtained similarity, whether or not the object 1 to be monitored is abnormal is discriminated. |
