PURPOSE:To facilitate the input of characters by providing a half-size/full-size register to each type of input characters in order to set and store the size of each input character. CONSTITUTION:The registers which set the input characters in the half or full sizes are provided in the KANA (Japanese syllabary) and alphanumeric modes respectively and independently of each other. Under such conditions, a Japanese word input mode is set when a power supply is turned on and the half-size/full-size registers of both KANA and alphanumeric modes are set in the full-size input modes (S10). Furthermore, both modes are initially set in the KANA input modes (S11). When the sizes of the input characters are changed by depressing a half-size/full-size switch key in the KANA input mode (S12), the KANA characters can be inputted in the half or full sizes (S13). Then, the sizes of the input characters are changed by depressing the half-size/full-size switch key in the alphanumeric input mode (S17). The half and full sizes of the alphanumeric characters are switched and the alphanumeric characters ca be inputted (S18). |
