PURPOSE:To provide a projection type color liquid crystal display device having light weight and compact size. CONSTITUTION:In a liquid crystal display device, a mosaic type color filter 4 is laid on a thin film transistor(TFT) type liquid crystal panel 1 having a TFT connected to each of red, green and blue picture elements in such a way as corresponding to each element. Also, a planer lens array(PLA) with a lens array formed in such a way as corresponding to each picture element is laid on the filter 4, and a light source 6 is provided on the PLA, with a projection lens 8 fitted to the liquid crystal panel 1 at the opposite side of the light source 6. Regarding the liquid crystal display device so constituted, the PLA is processed with a silane compound and, then, the mosaic type color filter 4 is formed, as a method for manufacturing a single panel projection type color liquid crystal display device. |
