Vehicle seat belt application system - uses motorised feed arm with electronic control coupled to switch elements incorporated in seat belt clasp

The application system uses a feed arm (15) displaced by a drive (14) to bring a vehicle seat belt into a position in which a locking tongue (10) is readily inserted in a corresp. clasp (11) which is released via a manual release pushbutton (25). The operating drive has an electronic control linked to a switch element (24) incorporated in the clasp so that it is operated via the release pushbutton. Pref. the clasp also incorporates a second switch element (21) operated by the insertion of the seat belt locking tongue in the clasp. Also when the clasp is not inserted, pressing of the manual release button activates the feed arm drive. ADVANTAGE - Cost-effective, ergonomic control for seat belt application drive.
