Controlled heaping of bulk material under conveyor belts - programming heap shape and monitoring actual heap shape and controlled flow rates to discharge points

The bulk material is supplied to a transverse line of conveyor belts (1) by two supply conveyors (2,3). The conveyor line has a series of discharge points with controlled discharge rates to spread the material into the selected shape. Sensors monitor the shape of the heap and regulate the discharge to those points which are lower than the programmed shape. The line of conveyors has a main feed conveyor (1) and several subsidiary conveyors (4,5,6,7) separated by controlled discharge points. The conveyor line is angled over the heap at controlled settings to spread the material. USE/ADVANTAGE - Bulk material can be topsoil for long term storage in open cast mining. Controlled heap shape requiring minimum of levelling before grassing.
