End-seal for pressurised air telecommunications cable - has sleeve screwed onto cable insulation with conical housing and sealed lid for conductor connections

An end connector for communications cable has a cylindrical sleeve which seals tightly against the cable insulation. There is a sharp-edged inner thread which can be screwed onto this cable insulation. Attached to the sleeve is a conical housing with a sealed lid. Beneath this lid and running across its width are the individual cable conductors (up to a hundred), positioned by combs at either end. The conductors are grouped in layers with sealing plates between them, the plates having grooves in which the conductors lie. Sealant is also applied to the grooves so that the conductors are embedded. The plates are held in position with spring clips. ADVANTAGE- Simple to use.
