The installation has a 1st thermistor (40) for registering the temp. of the heating device (40) and a temp. registering section (11) for producing a 1st temp. registsering signal corresp. to the temp. of the heater (40). A 2nd thermistor (60) registers the temp. of washing water supplied to a washing machine container. A 2nd registering signal corresp. to the water temp. can be produced. A temp. comparing section (13) compares the 1st temp. registering signal to a reference signal regarded as an overheating temp. signal. A 2nd temp. comparing section (14) compares the 2nd temp. registering signal to the sum total of the 1st registering signal and a pre-set value. ADVANTAGE - The installation and associated process reliably eliminates the risk of damage to the washing or a fire occurring.
