<p>The treatment comprises the following stages (1) sieving to produce a fraction (A) of medium grain size and a fraction (B) of larger grain size; (2) manual sepn. of fraction (A) to remove undesirable and/or valuable items; (3) recombination of fractions (A) and (B); (4) size redn. of fraction (A) and (B); (5) removal of iron; (6) sieving to separate the mixt. into a fine fraction (C), a medium fraction (D) and a coarse fraction (E); (7) air-floatation sepn. of (D) and (E) into a light fraction (F) and a heavier fraction (G); (8) combinations of fractions (C) and (G); (9) size redn. of fraction (F); (10) drying of fraction (F); (11) sieving of fraction (F) to form a fine fraction (H) and a fraction (I); (12) combination of fractions (C), (G) and (H); (13) sepn. of a plastic foil fraction (J) from the fraction (I) to form a fraction (K); (14) combination of fractions (C), (G) and (H); (15) sepn. of fraction (K) into a light fraction (L) and a heavy fraction (M); (16) storage of the light fraction (L); (17) combination of the fractions (C), (G), (H), (J) and (M); (18) combustion of fractions (C), (G), (H), (J) and (M); (19) recovery of electric and thermal energy from the combustion to supply the energy needs of the whole procedure; (20) cleaning of the combustion exhaust gas and the waste water, removing residual waste; and (21) melting of the residual materials to produce a vitreous final material (calcination). Also new is a device for the treatment comprising rotary sieve (12), shredder (14), magnetic separator (15), flat sieve (16), air floatation sorter (17), knife mill (18), rotary dryer (19), sieve (21), electrostatic drum sorter (22), air floatation sorter (23), combustor, energy recovery system, flue gas and waste water cleaning system, and calcination system. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for treatment of domestic and industrial refuse. External energy is unrequired, and end prod. is produced which is almost free of dangerous components, and all of the residual materials may be recycled.</p> |
