The mechanism is for a sheet-guiding cylinder in bearings in the press side-frames. The grips are on a controlled spindle and work against a spring-loaded stop strip movable in the radial direction. At each end of the strip (1) is a roller (12) working against a cam (11) fixed to the side frame (13) at the sheet-transfer point. The cams move it in a straight guide (4) on a supporting face (10) of the cylinder in conjunction with the spring (3) and up and down at right angles to the strip working face (9). USE/ADVANTAGE - Particularly for multi-colour press, preventing sliding and consequent blurring.
