The spherical ball (1) consists of two spherical segment shaped elements mounted on the end of a guide arm (2) on a horizontal axis (7) of symmetry. The guide arm is held by at least one sprung arm (3) the bottom end (4) of which is movably held on a horizontal axle (5) the ends of which are movably attached by two bearing points to a baseplate (9). The sprung and guide arms are made of a single elastic element of sprung steel and/or fibre reinforced plastics. The top ends of two cantilevered arms (10a,10b), fixed to the ends of the axle parallel to the end of the sprung arm, support two deflector rollers (12a,12b). Two cables (11a,11b) run over the rollers, joining the sprung arm and guide arm. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compact tennis practice appliance has an attached, kinematically realistic ball enabling the player to move between shots.
