The device is for step-by-step continuously repeatable torque transmission, with flexible, fixed step angle. It has a locking device (I) with automatic pressure medium distributor (3), and selectively, a turning drive (II). Alternatively, there may be a lever, actuated by a conventional cylinder with pivot bearing. Locking device and lever are combined to form a step drive. Shaft rotation and piston guidance of the turning drive are via play free-adjustable balls (4). A seal (2) is located between ball setting spindle and pressure piston (5), which has a ball guide groove (20). The piston also serves as radial bearing for the drive shaft (7). The piston surface (6) has a ball guide groove (8). USE/ADVANTAGE - Space-saving, universal, power-full step drive of simple construction. Load is constantly supervised, and there are no control valves.
