The seal consists of at least two separate linings sheet metal (4,4') overlapping in the area of the holes (2) so that one lining acts as a locally thicker part for restricting the application of pressure. The linings are laterally adjacent. Near the holes the linings may have sideways pointing overlapping tongues. The linings may be positioned behind each other longitudinally, with the overlapping ends joined. USE/ADVANTAGE - The easily and economically produced seal, esp. for IC engines, has linings with screw holes.
