Test methodology for concurrent software processes - using signals, message and interrupt routines for test programme operation

The test methodology is provided for concurrently running processes (M1, M2..MN) run in a computer under an operating system, and exchange signals and messages with each other by sending signals or using interrupt routines (IH). To test the programme operation a number of steps are performed. 1. Each message is checked for a test start decision. 2. All program conditions and variables are stored, the processor is stopped and only input/output is permitted. 3. A test programme is started, which performs input/output for a test. 4. The process variables are restored and the processor is restarted. The testing may also be performed on message exchange via Operating System interrupt routines, and may be executed by the O/S. USE/ADVANTAGE - Programmes/processes run normally without embedded test code.
