The splittable catheter of plastic comprises a cannula (10) made of half shells (11,12). The first half shell (11) is made of the first polymer and the second half shell (12) is made of the second polymer. The half shells adhere to one another directly via axially running face surfaces (11",12"), in order to form a lumen which is circular in cross-section. The limit surfaces run in a straight line along the catheter axis. Pref. the outer area surface of the catheter is the same material over the entire periphery. The first polymer is a polypropylene polymerisate and the second polymer is a polyethylene polymerisate. The outer upper surface of the catheter is coated with a sliding medium.
