摘要 Inlet has at least one channel section of the machine width with a main flow and a turbulence zone. Feeds, each with a flow control, are distributed to open across the machine width, with an inflow angle between the feeds and the main flow line to maintain a constant flow vol. downstream of the feeds, immediately after them, independently of the vol. through the feeds. Also claimed is a method used to affect the suspension flow at the stock inlet with a feed angle for the feeds against the main flow line as separate jets to give a sectional effect. The feed angle is selected to give no change in the total vol. flow directly after the feed. The sectional change to the paper weight is affected by the concn. of the injected feed and its vol.. An initial channel, of machine width, is divided by at least one sepg. wall along the flow line. The feed angle deviates by 5-85 deg. from the normal main flow. Each feed has a vol. flow control. At least two rows of jet feeds are deployed in succession, with a different feed angle between the jet rows, where the feed angle of the upstream row is larger than in the next row, or vice versa. With three rows of feed jets, the upstream angle is larger than the centre angle, where there is no change in the total vol. flow at the zone, and a further angle is smaller. The feed angles are varaible, and the feed channels open into the machine-width channel, at the end side at the outlet of the stock inlet. The turbulence is formed by a number of channels or tubes, into which the feeds open at least partially. The feed angles are varied to increase or decrease the vol. by sections, together with variations in fed suspension concns. and vols.. The paper wt. to be produced can be adjusted by setting the feed angle to the main flow with feed points displaced from the main flow. The concn. is adjusted at least at one feed, and at least partially directly into the turbulence channels or tubes. This also sets the fibre orientation and the paper wt.. At least one feed is supplied by two channels with a suspension of different densities and vol.. USE/ADVANTAGE - The stock inlet for a papermaking machine is opeated efficiently and without pressure loss, with adjustments to change the paper wt. and the fibre orientation without altering other parameters.
