The pump has a disk shaped pump impeller driven and located inside a pump housing, and with its endface in contact with the housing walls. A lamellar ring with radial lamellae rotate in the housing to form pump channels, operating from an inlet to an outlet opening. A separate channel runs parallel to the pump channel with a degassing opening in the region of the outlet. The degassing channel (7) lies above the radially inwards base (12) of the lamellar rings (11), and is connected with the pump channel (5) via a column (8) of a smaller radial extension. ADVANTAGE - Avoids inefficiency under unfavourable operating conditions, guarantees fuel supply under all circumstances.
