An underground container for cable junctions consists of a watertight flanged cylindrical box with lid and cable inlet adapters. These adapters have flanges and cover plates with holes for the actual cable entry. The holes in a cover plate have short tubes projecting outwards into which the cables are inserted and cable clamps on the reverse (inner) side. Heat-shrink tubing covers the tube ends and a portion of the entering cable to form a seal. Elastic seals are used between the cover plates and their mounting flanges, as also between the lid and the box flange. The lid is attached to the box flange by peripheral bolts. ADVANTAGE- Suitable for large number of cables with easy assembly.
