The machine sits on the edge (16) of the board and has a fence (18) pressed against the face of the board. The fence (18) is part of a shoe which contains a hot plate (2) and heater (7) and a trimming knife (3). The handle (5) is parallel to the shoe and immediately above it, and it extends forward to house the roller (11) on which the roll of tape (12) is mounted. The tape (13) is fed through a guideway (14) and passes a cutter which cuts it to length and then over a horizontal hot plate (2). The hot plate is heated by an element (7) immediately above it, and behind that is the trimming knife which trims the tape flush with the face of the board.
