Process for applying a permanent decorative cladding to the outer surface of a vehicle wheel, comprising a thin cover of high impact plastics conforming closely to the contour of the outer wheel surface, which is metal plated and fixed to the outer wheel surface by adhesives so as to appear to be an integral part of the outer wheel surface. A composite vehicle wheel with permanent decorative cladding is also claimed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for vehicle wheels, esp. cast aluminium wheels, to apply a permanent metal plated decorative finish to the outer surface, which is of high aesthetic quality and meets the corrosion resistance requirements of the vehicle manufacturers.
