An electric mains socket for flush mounting on a surface has a circular carrier ring for the socket with four peripheral slotted holes for mounting. There are additional slots so that the carrier ring with the socket can be adjusted for any angle. The carrier ring has three marks on its edge spaced at 15 degree intervals so that the user can check the angular orientation of the socket. The ring is made from a steel stamping or may be plastic. The socket has a cover flap. ADVANTAGE- Socket can be rotated so that plug leads in a bank of sockets do not foul each other.
