Servo operated lock for vehicle boot - has servo drive only into open position with mechanical sprung action lock closure

The lock linkage is released by a lever (13) pushed into the open position by a drive block (14) operated by a spindle drive servo. In the open position the servo drive is released nad a return spring returns the spindle drive and drive block, leaving the lever in the open position. The lock catch levers are open and are dropped into the closed position when the boot lid is closed. This pushes the lever back to the closed position. The servo action is monitored by a microswitch (12) which provides a warning light on the dashboard to indicate that the boot is open. The switch is reset when the lock is closed. A simple two wire connection controls the lock action, or a two wire system with a ground return. ADVANTAGE - Simple servo drive, minimum of wiring connections.
