PURPOSE:To enable the natural coincidence of line of sights and to perform the picture communication conversation or the like without a sense of incongruity by synthesizing an image close to the eyes generated by computer graphic to real image and adjusting the eyeball and eyelid of a speaker at the side of transmitter to the receiver's line of sight. CONSTITUTION:A line of sight direction detecting section 25 detects the direction of the speaker's line of sight at the side of receiver and gives the detected output to an eye movement discrimination section 26. The section 26 provides the proper threshold value for the displacement amount in the direction of speaker's line of sight at the side of receiver detected by the section 25, discriminating whether the transmitted speaker's eye direction information is used as it is or the speaker's line of sight at the side of transmitter is to be corrected by means of the speaker's line of sight direction information at the side of receiver. The discrimination output of the discrimination section 26 is given to an image synthesizing section 27. The section 27 deforms the computer graphic image close to the speaker's eyes at the side of the transmitter according to the correction amount discriminated by the section 26 to synthesize the speaker's real image at the side of the transmitter, reproducing images 28.
