PURPOSE:To enable recording to be effected not only from the top side of a thermal recording layer but also from the rear side of a base, by providing the thermal recording layer on the top side of a transparent base, and providing a silicone rubber or silicone resin layer on the rear side of the base. CONSTITUTION:An undercoat layer 4, a thermal recording layer 2 and a protective layer 6 are sequentially provided on the upper side of a transparent base 1, whereas a primer layer 5 and a silicone rubber or silicone resin layer 3 are sequentially provided on the lower side of the base 1. Thus, it is possible to record (H1) from the rear side in a recording direction 8 and to read (R1) a recorded image 7 from the rear side, and it is also possible to record (H1) from the rear side and to read (R1) from the top side of the thermal recording layer. Further, it is possible to record (H2) from the top side of the thermal recording layer and to read (R1) from the rear side, and it is also possible to record (H2) from the top side of the thermal recording layer and to read (R2) from the top side, the last-mentioned method having not been practiced in the prior art. |
