<p>The apparatus may be used as a rate gyro or as a gyroscope. It comprises a resonator comprising four mutually parallel identical beams (12a,12b,12c,12d) integral with a common square base (10) and projecting from said base (10) at corners of a virtual square. The beams (12a,12b,12c,12d) have a same resonant frequency in two directions parallel to the two sides of the square (10). It further has first transducers for vibrating each beam (12a,12b,12c,12d) in a first direction orthogonal to the beams, connected to a driving circuit (21) and second transducers for detecting an amplitude of vibration of the beams in a second direction each orthogonal to a respective first direction. <IMAGE></p> |
