BUTT JOINT METHOD FOR TYPE CARCASS-CONSTITUTING UNVULCANIZED RUBBER AND CORD COMPOSITE

PURPOSE:To execute sure and close joining of butt joint section by heating each abutting edge part of a composite at a lower temperature than vulcanizing temperature in constituting a type carcass through butt joint of unvulcanized rubber and cord composite. CONSTITUTION:For example, one joint end face 8 and the other of a standard length sheet 2 are pressed each other according to an ordinary method after heating them from both upper and under surface sides before abutment of them through a heater plate 9. Or one joint end face 8 and the other are each other pressed by the heater plate 9 after abutment of them. By the process, whole plane of the joint end face 8 can be substantially subjected to tight adhesion, even if bloom occurs on the joint end faces 8 or in the case wherein a cord end edge is exposed. Temperature degree for heating must be lower than that for curing so that plasticity of unvulcanized rubber does not disappear.
