PURPOSE:To realize a radiation picture reader which has no output variation of a photodetector by correcting the nonuniformity of read sensitivity at each scanning position on the basis of a signal obtained by scanning exciting light on a storing type fluorescent material irradiated with reference radiation. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent material SP1 irradiated directly with reference radiation without an object is set in a picture reader and the output of the photodetector 11 when a read scan is made in said state is A/D-converted by an A/D converter 21; and a divider 26 divides an input (k) (constant value) by the A/D conversion value (x) and data for correction proportional to the reciprocal of the output variation of the 1st photodetector 11 is stored in a storage part 25. Then, a fluorescent material SP where a radiation picture is recorded is set and a scan on it is started. The output of a multiplier 23 is obtained by dividing the output of the 1st photodetector 11 by a reference read signal at the same scanning position, so it is a picture signal after the nonuniformity of the read sensitivity of the device is corrected. |
