Process for manufacturing a protective insert (1) on a metallic article (2), in which a strip (3) serving as a barrier for gases is fastened between the article (2) and the insert (1), the edges of a metal protective cap (4) are fastened over the edges of the strip (3), the housing (5) included between the protective cap (4) and the article (2) is filled with metallic or ceramic powder, and the ends of the protective cap (4) are closed off and the article (2) with the filled protective cap (4) is introduced into a furnace (oven) with isostatic pressure under controlled atmosphere, the pressure and the temperature being chosen so that the powder is compacted in situ. The article (2) is cooled and then the protective cap is removed before the article (2) equipped with the insert (1) is given its final form. Very simple method which makes it possible to obtain reliable products. <IMAGE> |
