The invention relates to a setting apparatus comprising a housing (1), an operating grip (2) pivotable on the housing about a pivot axis (10), a lever arm, a centering device and a signal changing device (4, 5). In this setting apparatus, the operating grip is to return to its neutral position without external force effects, the neutral position being adjustable. This is solved in that the centering device comprises a pressure face (8) on either the housing (1) or the operating grip (2), which face under the force of a spring (6) acting along the longitudinal axis of the lever arm (3), is pressed against an abutment (7) on either the operating grip (2) or housing (1), respectively, the abutment (7) and/or pressure face (8) being adjustable with respect to the integers (1, 2) on which they are provided.
