PURPOSE:To prevent the ultraviolet discoloration of a potassium titanate fiber by mixing the fiber with a specified amt. of lead acetate. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. potassium titanate fiber are mixed with 0.05-7 pts.wt. lead (II) acetate to make the fibers resistant to discoloration. The fiber may be any one produced by any known method, such as by the baking method, flux method, or melting method. Lead acetate may be any one of the known three kinds of salts: anhydrous, trihydrate, and decahydrate. |
