A filter material suitable for making protective clothing comprising an air-permeable pliable textile support, substantially spherical adsorber particles, and an adhesive discontinuously securing said particles to said textile support, wherein the adsorber particles comprise a copolymer based mainly on styrene and divinylbenzene, eventually crosslinked by CH2-bridges.
