<p>PURPOSE:To maintain drivability in good condition after operation of an exhaust brake by making exhaust gas to flow once into the filter whose pressure loss value is smaller after operation of an exhaust brake means for reducing the opening area of an exhaust passage in comparison with that before operation. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of branch passages 2A, 2B provided with filters 5A, 5B for collecting particulates respectively are arranged on the way of an exhaust passage 2 in the exhaust gas purifying device 20 for an internal combustion engine 1. A control valve V1 is arranged at least in a branch part (a) so as to switch connection of the exhaust pipe 2, respective branch pipes 2A, 2B, and the discharging port 18 for regenerating gas. In this case, an exhaust brake device 30 for reducing the opening area of the exhaust passage 2 in comparison with that before operation is arranged upstream from the exhaust gas purifying device 20. Pressure sensors (SPU), (SPD) are arranged respectively in the branch part (a) and a confluent part (b). Control is carried out in such way that exhaust gas is made to flow once into a filter 5 whose pressure loss value is smaller.</p> |
