<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title dispersion which does not suffer the rise in viscosity, the loss of gloss, etc., when applied to a water-base printing ink by mixing a calcium lake monoazo pigment of a specified composition with a zinc salt of an inorganic acid and a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin. CONSTITUTION:A soluble aromatic amine such as p-toluidine-m-sulfonic acid or 1-amino-4-methyl-5-chlorobenzene-2-sulfonic acid is diazotized, and the product is coupled with a coupler component comprising a hydroxynaphthoic acid to obtain a monoazo dye, which is formed into a calcium lake monoazo pigment. An aqueous slurry of the obtained pigment is mixed with a zinc salt of an inorganic acid (e.g. zinc nitrate) and a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin (e.g. styrene/maleic acid copolymer resin) to produce an aqueous pigment dispersion. This dispersion can be desirably used for especially a water-base printing ink.</p> |
