PURPOSE:To improve the shift feeling in the case where the manaul speed change mode is selected (improve the speed change responsiveness without increasing the speed change shock). CONSTITUTION:As for the speed change controller for an automatic transmission for carrying out speed change by controlling the supply and discharge of the engagement pressure for a frictional engagement device, the engagement pressure supplied to the frictional engagement device is made larger than a stationary pressure (Step 510), by increasing the line pressure, when up-shift in a direct shift mode is judged (in case of YES in Step 506 and 508). If the start of inertia phase is confirmed (Step 518) or the pressure increase time of the line pressure exceeds a prescribed time (Step 520) even if the start of inertia phase is not comfirmed, the increase of the line pressure is suspended, and the return to the original stationary pressure is performed (Step 522). |
