2-(2-Hydroxy-3-phenoxypropylamino)ethylphenoxyacetamide compounds are disclosed, of general formula (I) <IMG> (I) R1 is hydrogen, fluoro or chloro, possible values of R2 include hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl and phenyl and possible values of R3 include hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxy and alkoxy, or R2 and R3 together form a methylene chain. The compounds are useful in the treatment of obesity and related conditions. Processes for their preparation are described, as are novel intermediates and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
