The time multiplexed input (Ir) passes to a channel separation circuit (101,104), which separates out the channel with digital words at a high periodicity and those with digital words at a low periodicity. Each channel has a memory circuit (102, 103). Digital words are read into the channels by a write circuit (106) driven by a clock set by the words at the start of the frame. A read circuit (107) read the words at time intervals determined by the receive clock and by the local clock circuit (110). The local clock circuit also drives the recombination circuits (109) which output the demultiplexed frames of information (Ie). ADVANTAGE - Prevents demultiplexing in case of underflow, whilst simplifying demultiplexer circuits. Isochronous loop transmission.
