The acoustic insulation, which is placed on a concrete slab, comprises an unspun fibre layer (1) and a sealing sheet (2). Needles are used to thread wires (3) through the fibre layer and the sealing sheet to fix them together. One side (4) of the insulation and the sealing sheet are in line, i.e. the fibre layer and sheet stop at the same height. On the other side (5) the sealing sheet has an overlap (6) so that the edge (7) of the layer is set back from the sealing sheet by a distance d corresponding to the desired overlapping. USE - Provision of acoustic insulation between a floating floor and a concrete slab.
