Debris (1) is removed by a rake (3) which travels along a path, from bottom to top, following the grill surface. The rake (3) is driven and guided by articulating arms (4) concentric with the grill. The movements of the rake (3) are effected by a combination of cables (8) and at least one jack. The cables (8) are attached close to the rake (3) and thus the load, and control lifting. A structure of light arms control angular displacement of articulation and in combination with the winch (9), allow engagement and disengagement of the rake on the grill surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - Appts. is used to remove debris from grills placed in the current of polluted water. There is controlled penetration of rake teeth within grill. The dual conveyor system increases the efficiency of debris removal.
