Measuring acceleration of vehicle

The method involves measuring the instantaneous fluid pressure (Pa) in hydraulic or hydropneumatic components (16) for transferring forces between the chassis components and body work. A vehicle acceleration value is derived from the fluid pressure measurements.The components of the acceleration parallel to the directions of force transfer are determined by subtracting a constant average pressure value from the measured value to give a dynamic pressure value which is then multiplied by a factor dependent on the vehicle construction to form the parallel component.
