The insulated cabinet (23) contains a circulating fan (22), being an evaporator (22') fed by the compressor (16), placed with the associated fan (14) and condenser (15) in the base compartment, which admits air through a drip-proof grill (20) at the front. A panel on the cabinet door (2) carries indicator lamps relating to power supply, program selection and prompting etc., with associated operative push-buttons. A circulating fan and compressor are independently operated by an electronic controller storing several timed operating programs, with the controller also being programmable, if desired, by the user. The controller receives thermal data from the cabinet via a sensing probe whose sharp point can be driven, where appropriate, into feed items. USE/ADVANTAGE - Industrial or commercial food storage. Program flexibility covers a range of internal temperatures and probable requirements.
