The mains-fed (2) generator (1) delivers (4) low value (11mA) current pulses, at least 1 second apart, to a bar conductor (3), strung along pin insulators (6) fixed on the ridge, ledge, etc., to be protected. The other output terminal (5) serves as an earth-return connection. The live conductor (3) may comprise several stainless steel strands woven with nylon fibres into a flat strip 10 or 20 mm wide, laid over a similar earthed strip, twice as wide, separated from it by an insulating strip, the whole fixed by adhesive to the protected structure. The live and earthed conductors may take the form of parallel rails, laid longitudinally 10 mm apart in an insulating strip 20 mm wide. USE/ADVANTAGE - Repels pigeons, etc., without injuring them. More effective than methods currently used.
