<p>A collapsible freight or storage container consisting of top (18) and bottom (10) surfaces, joined by the affixed ends of pivotally mounted pendulum suspended support legs (20) in each corner of the container top (18) and by the opposite ends of respective support legs (22) at the container bottom. The support legs (20, 22) are attached to a gear driven shaft (40) in a groove at the bottom (10) of the container which permits the legs (20, 22) to be synchronously raised and lowered to collapse and expand the volume of the container. The gear driven shaft (40) may include a bevel gear (36) to allow the shaft (40) to be driven on more than one side of the container, and over and under gears to allow the shafts (40) to be counter-rotated for allowing legs (20, 22) on a given side to be synchronously raised and lowered in different directions. Accordion walls and roll-up doors for the container are provided.</p> |
