<p>A device for opening and removing the contents of an envelope (111). The envelope comprises a reinforcing strip (31), a tear-off strip (41) with a tab (51), areas of weakness (58), and markings (30, 40, 50). The envelope is held in a holder (113) and the markings (30, 40, 50) are identified by means of reading cells (132, 133, 134). The envelope is then opened with a gripping member (116) and a hook (118). The two sides of the envelope are pulled apart by suction pick-up systems (122, 123), and the envelope contents are centered relative to the parted sides by needles (125, 126) which pierce the areas of weakness (58) thereof. A clip (127) is used to remove the contents of the envelope.</p> |
