<p>A magnetic stabilization method and apparatus for a textile spindle assembly (60) comprising an inner ring (82) attached with a supply package to a pot but inside the balloon control ring (70), and an outer ring (78) attached to the balloon control ring. The pot rides freely on a spindle that rotates. Inner and outer rings each carry a plurality of spaced apart magnets (80, 84). The magnets of the inner ring are oriented to oppose magnetically the magnets of the outer ring thereby creating a shaped, repulsive magnetic field therebetween. When the pot is placed in a starting position, with the spaced apart magnets of inner ring interleaving the magnets of the outer ring, rotation of pot is resisted notwithstanding rotation of the spindle on which the pot rides.</p> |
