<p>Tall work-supporting elements, riders or buttons (16), for reheat furnaces increase the unshadowed area (22a, 23a) of radiation exposure for the under surface (21a) of steel workpieces (19) and thereby significantly reduce the 'skid mark' phenomena of workpieces (19). The tall supporting members are secured to horizontal water-cooled skids (15) and have internal flow passageways to receive cooling water.</p> |
