The body of the hammer is formed by the two half shells which, when bolted together (4) make two sockets to receive the hammer heads (2), and a third socket at right angles to the other two to fit on the end of the handle. The shells have a circular inward projecting rib (11) in the recess (8) which fit in corresponding circular grooves (10) in the hammer heads to secure them. The hammer heads have an axial projecting conical ring surface (7) between the striker head and the groove, and this fits into the splayed inner surface of the shells. USE/ADVANTAGE - The interchangeable heads of the hammer cannot become inadvertently loose to cause an accident.
