摘要 To monitor the prepn. of printing plates for a printing press, to control the quality of exposure and development, the original copy data are taken as the input data for comparison with the output data of the plates to give control values for further working stages in the plate prepn.. They are further taken at a data collection point and at a printing press. Pref. the input and output data are produced as data sets at a computer assembly which reproduce the contents of the original copy and the plates by scanning the copy and/or plates. The surfaces to be scanned are divided into a number of overlapping modules where the overlapping scanned surfaces are evaluated by an evaluation and register unit. The scanning results of each scanned part line, at least at the plate, give unidimensional vectors to be evaluated in an opto-dynamic process to show directional shifts of light-dark and dark-light for use as measured values, with threshold values for directional shifts. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is to check for undeveloped points or areas, faults in the HT unit, stamping faults, exposure faults through bubbles or copy slippage, toner faults, inadequate heating or soiling through scrubbers, etc.. The operation detects faults automatically during stamping, exposure and development of the printing plates.
