The use of polymer mixt. (I) for the prodn. of moulded prods. which are inscribed with the aid of high-energy radiation is claimed. (I) contains (A) 40-99 wt.% polyoxymethylene homo- or co-polymer, (B) 1-30 wt.% polycarbonate, (C) 0-50 wt.% impact-modifying polymer and (D) 0-50 wt.% fibrous and/or particulate fillers. The prodn. of moulded prods. with markings, comprises exposing a moulded prod. made from (I) to high-energy radiation. Also claimed are moulde prods. with markings obtd. by this process. The markings are made with laser radiation pref. using a Nd/YAG laser. USE/ADVANTAGE - The polyoxymethylene-based mouldings have a good surface structure and good contrast between markings and background.
