Appts. for heating flat air-permeable elements (e.g. of nonwoven fibre material or foam material) using a circulating hot gas stream, has a nozzle hood, a waste gas collection hood and a transporter located in the intermediate plane between the hoods. The nozzle hood (1) has several adjacent, parallel gas feed chambers (I,II) with respective gas supplies (6,7). A thurst plate (13) is located in the gas outlet plane of the nozzel hood (1) and has several nozzle holes (14). Holding pins (20), with tips facing the element (4) to be heated, are arranged on the thrust plate (13) and, during operation, pass through the nozzle plate (15) for penetrating and holding the element (4). The waste gas hood (2) has a preforated plate (21) in its gas entry plane. USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is useful for heating flat semi-finished prods. of gas-permeable plastics, e.g. automobile interior carpets to be moulded. It provides rapid and thorough heating of the elements to defined temps., opt. with a varying temp. distribution over the element area.
