摘要 To separate a fluid flow into streams contg. different matters, two electrodes (16,18) are used as coaxial veritcal cylinder tubes with different dias. (D,d), with a ring zone (21) between them as the working zone for the liq. to flow through. Each electrode (16,18) has at least one opening (17,19) at the circumference for the entry to an outlet channel (22,20). A cylindrical membrane (24), permeable to fluid and of an electrically neutral material, is in the ring zone (21) between the electrodes (16,18). A gas exhaust (7-10) is above the working zone (21). The liq. flow to the ring zone (21) is through the base so that it forms a rising tube with a number of upper openings (17,19) at the electrode (16,18) peripheries. A ring cylinder (15) is round the outer electrode (16), and a coaxial outflow tube (22) is within the inner electrode (18). The gas exhaust includes a gas trap (8). The membrane (24) is a synthetic material woven from viscous yarn, or a textile material such as a dense multi-layer cotton. Perforated cylinders of a strong material contain the membrane (24) for stability. A bell cap (3) is below the filling opening 1) to deflect the liq. into a ring flow stream, opening into the ring cylinder (25), with passage openings to the ring zone (21) between the electrodes (16,18). USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is for the provision of ion-enriched water for water softening, esp. sea water, and for lye recovery.
